The Commercial Products team is a newly crafted team within the International Card Services Centre of Excellence, which recently brought together American Express consumer and commercial international issuing businesses to operate within a single business unit, led by the President of International Card Services. We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Senior Analyst to join the SBS side of the Commercial Product team, which supports over 12 markets across ICS with billings of over $50B, in meeting their SBS product objectives and driving profitable growth for American Express. The Senior Analyst will take on a key role in this new team, working on a range of initiatives including defining SBS card product strategy backed by global insights, driving the execution of SBS product initiatives in partnership with the markets and representing the overall SBS segment centrally on behalf of the markets within ICS and with the broader enterprise.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Define the overall International SBS card growth ambition and strategy and align with markets
  • Partner with key markets and regions including (although not limited to) UK, Canada, Mexico, to shape and support execution of product strategies
  • Assess product constructs and map product P&Ls to identify the biggest opportunity areas for the segment
  • Monitor global competitive trends and liaise with research agencies to commission insightful research to enable informed decision making across markets
  • Partner with other ICS CoE teams on relevant initiatives for SBS including but not limited to MR / rewards cost optimization, SBS acquisition, lending
  • Define selected ‘beyond the card’ strategies linked to global roadmaps, such as expense management and virtual cards capabilities, and support their execution across markets
  • Collaborate closely with markets to understand existing products and processes; support market growth targets by developing global capability and product roadmaps
  • Facilitate best practice sharing between markets

Minimum Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial thinker and problem solver, with proven experience in taking unstructured data and translating into analysis and strategic insights / recommendations
  • Experience in carrying out customer and/or competitive research
  • Effective decision-maker with exceptional interpersonal, collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate across a broad range of colleague partners or stakeholders, ideally across international markets – experience working in cross-functional or cross-market teams within American Express preferred
  • Excitement and interest in learning and growing American Express’s small business portfolio
  • Self starter comfortable with operating across multiple workstreams in parallel
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, fast paced, global team, and having a few laughs along the way
